What do you do in your spare time? Watch TV? Play basketball? Knit? If you’re David Pares of Omaha, Nebraska, you work on condensing the fabric of space time – in your garage. Despite a lack of any funding or academic help of any kind, Pares spends a couple of hours every day working on the world’s first warp drive . In his humble garage, half of which is still devoted to a car, he has come up with an instrument made of fractal arrays and V-shaped panels – which according to Pares, is a low-powered warp drive motor. NASA’s Dr. Harold ‘Sonny’ White is working on a real-life warp drive that could transport people across the galaxy. However before we start boldly going where no man has gone before, we’re going to need a starship. Dr. White recently teamed up with artist Mark Rademaker to unveil a realistic design of what his theoretical warp-capable ship will look like. It looks like something worthy of Starfleet – and it’s called the Enterprise! Read the rest of This is What NASA’s Warp-Capable Enterprise Starship Would Look Like! “Tesla was right and we are ready to prove it!” So say the two Russian physicists who have just launched an Indiegogo campaign to rebuild Nikola Tesla’s Wardenclyffe Tower in Fall, 2014.  Tesla believed that the tower could transmit power wirelessly but this was never definitively proven in his lifetime. If he was right, and after extensive study the team are convinced he was, the project could provide an efficient, worldwide energy transmission system that would distribute all the clean energy we can use. Warp drive – or travel at speeds faster than light – has long been one of the cornerstones of science fiction, however top NASA scientist Dr. Harold “Sonny” White recently stated that “a Star Trek experience within our lifetime is not such a remote possibility.” The Advanced Propulsion Theme Lead for the NASA Engineering Directorate wrote in a blog post on Icarus Interstellar : “At JSC, Eagleworks has initiated an interferometer test bed that will try to generate and detect a microscopic instance of a little warp bubble. Although this is just a tiny instance of the phenomena, it will be existence proof for the idea of perturbing space time—a “Chicago pile” moment, as it were.” Read the rest of NASA is Working on a Real-Life Star Trek Warp Drive Permalink | Add to del.icio.us | digg Post tags: dr harold sonny white , light speed , nasa , nasa advanced propulsion , nasa engineering directorate , star trek , warp drive

Whole Foods just made history by becoming the first national retailer to personally ensure that all of the body care products on its store shelves are certified organic . There are currently no federal laws that mandate how the word organic can be used on personal care products, so Whole Foods went the extra mile by working with suppliers to ensure that they meet standards set by third party certifiers such as the USDA’s National Organic Program and the NSF/ANSI 305 Organic Personal Care Standard .
