Respect for the environment and the skills needed for self-sufficiency must be taught at a young age. In addition to “reading, writing, and arithmetic,” why not also teach kids how to grow their own food in an eco-friendly way? That’s the philosophy behind The Farming Kindergarden , a Vietnamese school that is installing a massive rooftop garden in order to teach children the basics of raising their own fresh food. Maintaining the garden teaches children valuable skills, and helps provide meals for both students and faculty. Designed by Vo Trong Nghia architecture firm, the facility also includes water recycling,  solar  water heating, pc-concrete louver for shading and more green features designed to inspired young students to care about the planet.
