10 Design recently unveiled renders of its futuristic Galaxy Yabao Hi-Tech Enterprises Headquarter Park , which is designed to integrate into the natural landscape of its site in Shenzhen, China. The design is also an examination of the concept of moving “beyond neutrality” on a large-scale, and it incorporates a series of sustainable building strategies. The buildings are designed with facades that neutralize air pollution 24 hours a day, an algae system that produces oxygen, organic fertilizer, and cleans grey water, and a series of subterranean chambers that naturally cool outside air and push it into a series of outdoor courtyards. The buildings take full advantage of technologies that help shape the temperature and air quality of their micro-climate. + 10 Design The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader. The launch saw the release of a gorgeous, vivid book, chock-full of handy sustainability-related infographics both about the history of environmentalism, notable current sustainable projects, and the future implications of eco-friendly living. Through collaboration with designers, this book will soon be accompanied by additional virtual representations of how our lives could be transformed by widespread adoption of sustainable practices. If that isn’t enough excitement, Sustainia also plans to establish an award they describe as a “Nobel prize for sustainable development.” Read the rest of Arnold Schwarzenegger & Project Green Light Launch “Sustainia” to Inspire Sustainable Living Permalink | Add to del.icio.us | digg Post tags: arnold schwartzenegger , BIG Architects , connie hedegaard , general electric , Green Light Project , guide to sustainia , homes of the future , knoll design , rio+20 conference , sustainable cities , sustainable design , sustainable living , United Nations , united nations global compact
