The progress of prosthetic limb technology has taken a magical turn with soon-to-be-available prosthetic hands modeled after Frozen, Marvel, and Star Wars characters. Disney, parent company of these franchises, has granted royalty-free licenses and additional support to Open Bionics , a startup working to provide affordable, 3D printed prosthetic hands for amputees. Even if the world’s carbon emissions were cut dramatically today, it’s still likely that south Florida and New Orleans will eventually end up underwater. That’s the take-home message from a new study out of Princeton University, which also notes America is set to lose a state-sized piece of land if carbon emissions continue unchecked.
