Architect Daniel Libeskind just unveiled plans for a modern, metallic apartment complex located in the heart of Berlin . Projected for competition by the end of 2016, the eight-story tall Chausseestrasse 43 building will feature large asymmetric windows to maximize natural light and a shining ceramic facade etched with a striking geometric pattern. The building’s most awesome feature, though, is that its shimmering ceramic tiles will consume carbon dioxide and release oxygen back into the air, just like plants do. The company is calling it the world’s first and only continuous-tone full color 3D printer . What this means is that it’s able to produce 3D prints with a full range of colors that blend as seamlessly as a rainbow. What’s more, the printer also features integrated material recycling to cut down on wasted materials and usage.
