Click here to view the embedded video. Today is World Sparrow Day , and all around the planet, people are celebrating these sweet little birds and appreciating their vital work as insect controllers and plant pollinators . My husband and I hand-raised a couple of House Sparrows that we found as babies: Robin was pitched out of the nest when only a few hours old due to foot and wing deformities, and Puck was the only sibling that survived after a neighbor knocked her nest out of his eavestrough. They’re sweet, friendly, affectionate birds , and for Robin’s second birthday , we celebrated with a cake made of bread, nut butter, and seeds . There was also juice. Enjoy! + World Sparrow Day Permalink | Add to del.icio.us | digg Post tags: bird video , house sparrow , house sparrow day , house sparrows , passer domesticus , Puck , Robin , Robin and Puck , Robin birthday , sparrow , sparrow birthday , sparrow birthday party , sparrow birthday party video , sparrow day , sparrow video , World Sparrow Day

In fact there is as much public anger over bank bailouts in the UK as there is in the US. And while higher taxes may, in general, be a tough sell—taxing bank profits may be a little more palatable to your average man on the street.
