A collaboration between TripAdvisor Rentals and Wayfair has just taken pop-up housing to new heights. The team turned a London Eye Ferris Wheel capsule into a stunning rainforest-inspired tiny apartment . The chic urban capsule features oodles of greenery sprouting from every inch, a tropical green print on the ceiling, and a view that’s to die for. The design for the tiny pod-like space was inspired by the rainforest and the Wayfair team spared no expense filling it tastefully with a forest of vegetation. With the double bed at the center of the design, the green design theme was complimented by geometric and palm print textures, a hanging birdcage, and multi-colored rugs. Aside from the bed, the rest of the furniture was kept to a minimum. A beautiful turquoise dresser was filled with overflowing greenery and a large wicker chair made for the perfect spot to watch the sun set over the city. Tesla’s Musk to quit White House councils if Trump pulls out of Paris climate deal

Comments Off on Tesla’s Musk to quit White House councils if Trump pulls out of Paris climate deal

Back in February,  Tesla  CEO Elon Musk defended his decision to stay on President Donald Trump’s business advisory council after facing a barrage of criticism, including from customers who claimed to have canceled their Model 3 orders. His reasoning was that there needed to be more moderate voices advising Trump on issues such as climate change and clean energy. Now with the president reportedly on the verge of pulling out of the landmark Paris climate agreement , it appears that Musk has had enough of Trump — threatening on Twitter to quit the two advisory councils he sits on (business and manufacturing jobs) if the president abandons the Paris accord. Trump is announcing on Thursday his decision about whether to keep the United States in the global pact, with a source saying he intends to exit the accord. If the US does withdraw from the Paris accord, it would join Syria and Nicaragua as the world’s only non-participants in the agreement signed by 195 nations and so far ratified by 147 parties . The agreement to significantly reduce planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions entered into force on November 4, 2016. The list includes Tim Cook of Apple Inc., Dow Chemical Co.’s Andrew Liveris, JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Jamie Dimon and General Electric Co.’s Jeffrey Immelt. Twenty-five companies, including Intel and Microsoft, signed onto a letter published as a full-page ad in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal on Thursday. “By expanding markets for innovative clean technologies, the agreement generates jobs and economic growth,” the letter reads. “U.S. companies are well positioned to lead in these markets. Withdrawing from the agreement will limit our access to them and could expose us to retaliatory measures.” Via LA Times Image via Facebook

An explosion of green took over a city bus in Taipei recently, treating commuters to a leafy dose of nature. Florist Alfie Lin and designer Xiao Qing-Yang designed the world’s first “Forest Bus,” a transformed wonderland of turf-lined seats and hanging orchids and ferns that continued to run as a mode of transport. The traveling art installation is a welcome breath of fresh air to the city’s concrete jungle, where air pollution is a constant concern. Conceived with the aim of bringing city dwellers closer to nature, the Forest Bus project temporarily transformed a city bus that runs on the popular 203 route between Taipei’s Tianmu neighborhood and New Taipei City’s Xizhi District, including stops at the beloved Raohe night market and an art museum . The trial period, which launched June 24, lasted five days and cost NT$100,000 (USD $3,320) to prepare according to the Taipei Times . Don’t be fooled by the perfect circular shape of this glowing installation in Bilbao. A closer look reveals that the seemingly solid plane is actually made from thousands of illuminated notebooks. Created by anonymous artist collective Luzinterruptus , this curious installation, called Denboran Zehar, uses community interaction to rethink recycled materials . Commissioned by Azkuna Zentroa, Luzinterruptus crafted Denboran Zehar for the 10th anniversary of Gutun Zuria (Bilbao Internacional Literature Festival) in April 2017. In light of the anniversary, the designers wanted to pay homage to the themes of creation and time. “To this end, we looked for a way to make the traces left by time visible over a material associated with creation,” wrote the designers. We thought of those basic white paper notebooks so feared by artists when they are blank, and so beloved when they have been satisfactorily used, even becoming true objects of devotion despite their modest appearance. Within the alarming “anti-aging” context where we are currently immersed, we thought it would be interesting to give life to this idea.” As with most of Luzinterruptus’ projects , recycled materials were primarily used. The artists collected 5,000 recycled paper notebooks and asked the Bilbao community to leave anonymous writings and drawings on the pages. The thousands of notebooks were then individually equipped with lights and arranged in a large perfect circle on Azkuna Zentroa’s outdoor terrace. Related: Luminous floating rings in London are made from 13,000 recycled plastic bottles Luzinterruptus exposed the ephemeral installation to the elements for 25 days, allowing time and weather to deteriorate the notebooks. “These interventions surely suffered severe mutations and both, the colors and the materials, eventually blended, blurring the messages so, to our surprise, everything ended up acquiring a strange homogeneity within the purest eclecticism.” On the last day of the installation, Luzinterruptus moved the artwork indoors and gifted the illuminated notebooks to visitors. + Luzinterruptus
