Cloning animals used to be a taboo subject – but not in China, where a Shenzhen facility clones 500 pigs every year. The farm, run by a company called BGI, implants around two pigs a day with cloned embryos. Clones and clones of clones are raised and used to test out new medicines in a converted shoe factory, which operates alongside a facility of genetic sequencing processors . Foster+Partners just unveiled the first renders of their 59-story ComCast Innovation and Technology Center, which will be erected right next to the company’s headquarters in Philadelphia. The 1,121-foot glass tower is expected to become the tallest LEED-certified building in the United States, and – with a budget of over $1,2 billion – it will be Pennsylvania’s largest private development ever.
