Green walls are gaining popularity in design circles all over the world, so naturally they’re going to make a solid appearance in trendy health food/vegan cafes in NYC as well.  Organic Avenue , a health food restaurant and juice bar, has unveiled a new flagship store off Bryant Park in New York City, with a 100 square-foot GSky green wall gracing the store’s interior. Organic Avenue provides organic, vegan food and cold-pressed juice options making healthy eating accessible for those on the go, and this living wall is ideal for an environment that promotes health and well-being. Parker Urban Greenscapes completed this green wall installation and will be providing an ongoing maintenance care for the wall. The backbone of this green wall technology is GSky’s Versa Wall System; one that is user-friendly, and easy to install and maintain. GSky offers several different flexible installation options, and a variety of plant selections to suit any space. Adding a green wall is an easy way to integrate the beauty of nature in a resting place: Through vertical gardening, nature is brought from the outside to the indoors, and the plants on the green wall improve air quality by removing toxins from the air and capturing dust. + GSky + Organic Avenue + Parker Urban Greenscapes The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader. Parker Urban Greenscapes , a division of Parker Interior Plantscapes Inc, recently installed the largest biowall in the United Stated at Drexel University ’s new Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building . The Drexel students, faculty and visitors are greeted each day by this mammoth 22-foot wide, 80-foot tall biowall which boasts over 1,500 plants. The biowall is actually an integrated part of the building’s air handling system. Air is actively drawn through the wall of plants then past their root systems. In the root zone, highly specialized microbes actively degrade pollutants such as formaldehyde and benzene into the benign constituents of water and carbon dioxide. The clean air is then distributed throughout the space. “The Drexel BioWall is one of the most significant advancements in controlling indoor air quality in the US. Parker is proud to be a part of this extremely important project and its success,” said Richard Parker, President of Parker Interior Plantscapes Inc. + Parker Urban Greenscapes The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader.
