Space solar cell and panel manufacturer Spectrolab has broken its own solar cell efficiency world record. The Boeing subsidiary achieved an efficiency of 38.8 percent for a ground-based multi-junction solar cell without the use of concentrated sunlight, breaking their former record by one percent. The U.S. Department of Energy ‘s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado independently verified the record.
