BioLabyrinthus Garden bridges sustainable development with classic French garden aesthetics

The labyrinth-style garden created by French landscape architects  Corinne Julhiet Détroyat and Claude Pasquer  won first place at Italy’s Orticulario  international creative garden show. The designers rose to the challenge of how to combine a dynamic, sustainable development concept with a classical French gardening tradition; two ordinarily conflicting notions. The result is the  BioLabyrinthus garden—a maze of biodiversity that incorporates a mushroom-shaped composter as well as sculptures that double as bird feeders and insect habitats. The architects created a stunning symphony of color and texture in this labyrinthine space , and incorporated aspects that would appeal to adults as well as children, who will hopefully become the gardeners of tomorrow. + BioLabyrinthus Garden Video The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader.
