High-Efficiency Hydraulic Hybrid Car Could Get 170 MPG

INGOCAR is a developmental concept for a 5 passenger car with a hydraulic drive system in place of a conventional powertrian. With the weight reduction this offers and other efficiencies in the systems, the designers say their vehicle could get 170 mpg.

Student-Built Eco Car Gets 2,752 MPG

Photo courtesy of Shell Mechanical engineering students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (my alma mater) have developed an eco supercar that gets 2,752 MPG! I never get tired of stories like these. As the car industry trips over itself trying to tap the fuel-efficient vehicle market, they end up getting pwned by a group of kids. And they been doing it since 2005! This car isn’t some “complicated” hybrid or electric vehicle…it is 100-percent battery free

Image Source: Alex Muse Dear Pablo: We drink a great deal of water all day long and wondered which uses more energy: opening the refrigerator door to get a bottle of cold water or using the water dispenser on the exterior of the unit. Also, does it take more energy to get ice from the mechanical dispenser (which also uses energy to make ice) or more by opening and closing the freezer door to get some cubes? The big picture answer is that it probably doesn’t matter.
