The world’s largest wind and solar hybrid renewable energy project was recently put into operation in Kingston, Jamaica. The WindStream Technologies array was commissioned for the rooftop of the prominent local law firm, Myers, Fletcher, & Gordon. Expected to generate approximately 106,000kWh annually with a return on investment in less than four years, the plant should save the firm approximately $2 million in energy costs over the course of its 25-year lifetime. Siemens Creates the World’s Largest Turbine Blades for New UK Wind Farm!
Comments Off on Siemens Creates the World’s Largest Turbine Blades for New UK Wind Farm!
Wind farms installed at sea reportedly generate 40% more energy than those on land, and with that in mind, Siemens is currently constructing the world’s largest wind turbines blades in order to help Dong Energy generate as much wind power as possible. As part of the project, Siemens will install 300 gearless, new-generation 6 MW wind turbines off Britain’s coast which are expected to supply about 1.8 million households with environmentally friendly electricity by the year 2017.
