Remya Jose lives in Kizhattoor Panchayat, India. Like most 14 year-olds, she’s required to do chores around the house. She and her twin sister were tasked with handling the family’s laundry–by hand. Instead of moping around or complaining about the time-consuming work, Jose decided to get creative. That’s the idea behind the Smart Hoodie, the genius idea from students at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. The hoodie acts as a sort of wearable texting app, allowing you to make different gestures to send messages on your cell phone without ever having to type a single letter. Touching the hood sends a love message while tugging the sleeve says that you are busy, turning your clothing into true expression.
