Zaha Hadid’s Al Wakrah stadium for the Qatar 2022 World Cup has raised eyebrows since it was first revealed, but a shockingly high number of construction deaths are threatening to cast a sinister shadow over the yonic structure. According to The Guardian, more than 500 Indian migrant workers have reportedly died in construction preparations for the World Cup. When The Guardian asked for her thoughts, Hadid replied that it is “not my duty as an architect to look at it.” Read the rest of Zaha Hadid Deflects Responsibility for Over 500 Qatar World Cup Worker Deaths Permalink | Add to del.icio.us | digg Post tags: al wakrah stadium , architect liability , construction deaths , indian migrant workers , migrant worker deaths , migrant workers , qatar 2022 world cup stadium , qatar labor laws , Qatar World Cup , world cup construction , world cup stadium , yonic architecture , zaha hadid

Inspired by the biological diversity of the San Marcos River,  JB Public Art recently installed their LED lighting sculpture, Fish Bellies , on the Texas State University campus. Mirroring the progress of a school of fish, Fish Bellies reflects the social and communal spirit of the university’s campus. The sculpture is fully interactive and its glowing forms give way to an organic, illuminated landscape that is meant to spark interest in the region’s unique ecology and biology. + JB Public Art The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader. London Original Loft is a concept design for the reuse of railway arcades scattered around London as living spaces. The idea is to close the arcades with a special facade that features skylights rather than vertical windows. In this way sunlight is provided while privacy is ensured. + CSR Architects The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader. Want to see your story on Inhabitat ?
