Designer Cassandra Verity Green caused quite a stir at the Central Saint Martins fashion show when she unveiled a line of perspex fishbowl backpacks and purses. The  Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals  wasn’t having any of it. “While we understand that a graduate fashion show is about grabbing attention and headlines, we do have concerns that using a living creature to create a novel or unusual accessory encourages people to see them as replaceable ornaments, rather than living creatures in need of care and commitment,” said a RSPCA spokeswoman  in a statement . What’s your opinion on using living fish as accessories? Head over to Ecouterre to take a poll. While Chanel may be known for class and elegance, we’re having a hard time finding any of either in their Spring 2012 Paris Couture Week Show.  For their show of excess in a depressed economy,  Karl Lagerfeld commisioned an aircraft built to scale to house the show for the line. photo: Mat McDermott I took the photo above in Times Square not long after Earth Day New York ‘s green car fashion show. Picture a whole bunch of electric, hybrid and biofuel vehicles presented to a crowd of tourists many of whom had no idea what was going on but were drawn in by the all-electric Delorean conversion, complete with decade’s old Back to the Future references. Personally I thought the eStar all electric delivery truck was more interesting.
