You may have already started stocking up on sunscreen for the summer, but you might want to wait a second before slathering it onto your delicate skin. A recent study conducted by the Environmental Working Group found that only 39 of 500 sunscreens on the market— a dismal 8%—made the grade for safety. But the scare doesn’t stop there, the study also found that most sunscreens could also contain potentially hazardous ingredients, including a form of vitamin A that is linked to accelerated growth of skin tumors and lesions.
