Artist Berndnaut Smilde Creates Amazing Indoor Clouds

It’s looking rather cloudy inside. That’s because Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde  has the ability to create small, fluffy clouds indoors. He creates luminous masses of vapor that slowly float through rooms and hallways of buildings, transforming them into surreal, dreamlike landscapes . The Green Room of the Veterans Building in downtown San Francisco was the setting for one of Smilde’s latest “cloud projects” — a delicate mass hovered in the middle of the room for a few moments, before it literally vanished into thin air. German Researchers Create a Robo-Ape for Work in Space

The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence has created a robotic system based on an ape that aims to improve the locomotion and mobility characteristics of robots. It is the latest animal-inspired robot to be designed, following the Cheetah and the BigDog  – if the trend continues, we’ll soon have an entire animal kingdom of robots. The  Robo-Ape was created as part of a project aimed at developing intelligent structures for application in mobile robot systems, with a special focus on walking machines. Drayson Racing Sets 204.2 MPH World Land Speed Record for Electric Cars

Drayson Racing just set a new land speed record for electric cars , reinforcing its position as one of the world’s top EV manufacturers. With chief executive and former science minister Lord Drayson behind the wheel, the Lola B12 69/EV hit a top speed of 204.2 mph at a racetrack in Yorkshire. In setting the new record, Drayson shattered the previous record of 175 mph that was set by Battery Box General Electric nearly 40 years ago. It only took a few thousand years, but someone has finally reinvented the wheel —and it actually works better than the original. Skateboarder David Patrick’s crazy SharkWheel was discovered by chance while he was creating a cube out of six soft pieces of piping. Patrick dropped the cube by accident, and to his amazement, the piece started rolling and it didn’t stop.
