Have you heard of paint by numbers? What about garden by numbers? The Nourishmat takes the same concept and turns it into a simple way to plant an organic garden of herbs and veggies. Creators Phil Weiner and John Gorby wanted to empower consumers and turn them into producers that could grow their own food and nourish themselves without worrying about chemical additives, pestecides and GMOs . After some brainstorming, they came up with the Nourishmat, a cool planning mat that comes complete with an irrigation system and naturally enriched seed balls that flourish into fresh and healthy food. The Nourishmat makes planting easy for people without a lot of space or gardening experience to grow to their heart’s content. Weiner and Gorby will be launching their Nourishmat Kickstarter campaign in just a few days. If you’d like to get your hands on one of these mats or support their efforts, be sure to sign up for updates at their site . + Nourishmat The article above was submitted to us by an Inhabitat reader.
