Perhaps the most badass villain in this universe is Darth Vader , and that’s the reason why DIYers have created so many projects revolving around this  Star Wars bad guy. Above is one creation that turns this super villain into a mean machine of destruction on wheels. Made by Gabriel Dishaw , this unusual Darth Vader sculpture, called ‘Tank Vader’, is a miniature tank with the head of Star Wars’ most feared character. Made from a variety of recycled materials, including parts from a toy tank, computers, typewriters, adding machines, typewriters, toy airplanes and vintage model pieces, this is a work of art worth appreciating. Gabriel has put his piece up for sale for $1000. Storms , sea level rise, and extreme drought are only predicted to accelerate in the decades ahead. Combined with unprecedented urban population growth, this unpredictable weather is a recipe for costly, life-threatening disaster in the world’s biggest cities. Rather than quibble about why climate change is occurring, the city of Copenhagen has decided to take action. The city recently unveiled a comprehensive Climate Adaptation Plan . Using both blue and green design strategies, the plan will prevent heavy rainfall from crippling infrastructure while increasing natural habitats within the city. The Climate Adaptation Plan is also one of only five prestigious  INDEX: Awards  winners, which were announced earlier this afternoon in Denmark! When you flirt with the Dark Side, bad things can happen; lava burns you, offspring return to kill you, and giant space cephalopods attack your ships. In a massive tentacled disturbance in the Force, Iain Heath constructed a giant LEGO kraken to entwine a model of Darth Vader’s Super Star Destroyer. The stellar squid began as a suggestion from his boss, and it now has a permanent home at the Seattle offices of Tableau Software . Is there any story more sacred to geekdom than the Star Wars saga? If you always secretly wanted to be Luke or Princess Leia, have we got a piece of upcycled art for you. Etsy artist Gabriel Dishaw knows what it feels like to spend childhood longing for a light saber, so it’s no surprise that his passion for Star Wars would carry over into his adult life. He likes to make artistic items from upcycled materials ; bits and pieces of things that might otherwise have been thrown away. Most recently, he turned found objects from typewriters, adding machines and old computers, into a Darth Vader helmet that has our midichlorians all aflutter. French artisan Alain Bellino took his craft to the dark side when he welded a number of leftover metal pieces together to create this surprisingly realistic  Darth Vader bust. Bellino saves and restores a bevy of items from chandeliers to sculptures to tea sets to door knockers and his handmade Vader sculpture is made of everything but the kitchen sink (including two recycled spoons for the eyes and an entire helmet of decorative ornaments). If you’re impressed with Bellino’s Star Wars tribute, check out his other creations which include a chrome skull, a lamp made of out forks and spoons, and even the Statue of Liberty on his online portfolio ! + Alain Bellino Via design you trust Permalink | Add to del.icio.us | digg Post tags: Alain Bellino , Art , darth vader , darth vader art , darth vader sculpture , eco-art , eco-materials , france , french sculpture , green art , green materials , green sculpture , Metal , Nice , recycled art , Recycled Materials , recycled sculpture , recycled sculpture france , sculpture art , star wars , star wars art , sustainable art
