It’s pretty much the understatement of the century to say that Jon Stewart, departing host of The Daily Show , has a lot of fans. However, Stewart will gain some new fans as he prepares for his post-TV days, and a lot of them will be furry. Stewart and his wife, Tracey, have purchased a New Jersey farm and plan to turn it into an animal sanctuary, where rescued farm animals can live out their natural lives in peace. Can you hear the collective “awwww” from animal-loving fans of The Daily Show? Image: Screengrab from Comedy Central When you see a Daily Show clip on TreeHugger (or on any other site, really), you know what to expect: Jon Stewart ‘blasting’ a Fox News pundit or Republican politician for doing something ridiculous. Jon Stewart attacked the idiotic allegations of ClimateGate , explained to the Tea Party why we need environmental regulations , and chastised BP’s recklessness in the wake of the Gulf Spill. But the show’s … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Cats and sport hunters kill many more birds every year than do wind turbines — which is why this Daily Show bit about duck hunters fighting a proposed wind farm on the grounds that it will kill ducks is particularly amusing: … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Photo: Public Bikes iBike? Apple is known for its taste in pretty much everything, and that seems to include bikes. Everaldo Coelho has posted a photo of one of the bicycles made available to Apple employees on the One Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino, California. This was reposted on WIRED, and readers there identified it as a M3 Mixte from Public Bikes in San Francisco. Comments Off on Cash for Clunkers is Ruining the Destruction Derby Industry (VIDEO)

Photo via Ontario County Fair It’s sad but true–the enormously popular Cash for Clunkers program that took 690,000 polluting cars off the road and replaced them with brand new, slightly less polluting ones has had an unforeseen effect. Since the ‘clunked’ vehicles get their engines scrapped to keep them off the road, Cash for Clunkers has cut off a prime used car supply source for the destruction derby industry–which has now fallen on hard times. The Daily Show investigates after the..
