Minimum size restrictions have long been a thorn in the side of tiny home advocates. So when Walsenburg, Colorado, not far from Colorado Springs, did away with its 600 square foot restriction last year, Rod Stambaugh, founder of Sprout Tiny Homes was quick to grab up a 4.5-acre parcel of land. New York studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro has revealed their concept for the United States Olympic Museum , scheduled to open in downtown Colorado Springs, CO before the 2018 Olympic Winter Games . The renderings for the 60,000 square foot space show sweeping curved lines, elevated walkways and an extensive outdoor public plaza with views of Colorado’s Pikes Peak. The building’s spiraling shape reflects was inspired by the fluid movement of Olympic athletes and it will act as a brilliant commemoration of the Olympic games. Flash floods are sweeping across Colorado , washing out roads and cutting off communities. At least three people have been reported dead as a result of a devastating overnight storm that dumped over half a foot of rain across the region. Officials describe the situation as extremely dangerous and urge stranded residents to stay at home and conserve resources as search-and-rescue teams struggle to fix flooded roadways.
