For many people, summer is all about playing at the beach and living carefree, but for children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a day at the beach can be a challenge. That’s why we love Cure SMA and Puppy Prodigies fabulous project. Thanks to a surfboard riding therapy dog named Ricochet, kids with SMA got the chance to ride the waves on a surfboard at the beach.

What an emotionally combustible mix for me.First, the chance to be in the city where the fate of the planet is being discussed. Okay, so I wasn’t rubbing elbows with Lauren Fabius, Narendra Modi and Todd Stern negotiating the fine print of the COP21 accord. But to be in Paris along with 40,000 others dedicated to coming up with an agreement the save the planet, was stimulating.
