Brooklyn’s Barclays Center has announced that it will be topping off its already impressive environmental achievements with a 130,000-square-foot green roof . Designed by SHoP Architects, the new planted roof will provide an aesthetically pleasing view for those living in the soon-to-be-completed apartments above, but will also soak up rainwater and dampen noise during concerts and sporting events. B2 , the tower that is expected to be the world’s tallest modular building once it’s complete, received its very first mods yesterday. The mods were hoisted atop the structure at the Atlantic Yards construction site in Brooklyn. Photo via  Shutterstock The Food and Drug Administration finally approved two long-overdue proposals this Wednesday to curb farmers’ frequent use of antibiotics as a way to slow the rapid growth of antibiotic-resistant diseases. According to a study by the Centers for Disease Control , at least 23,000 people a year are dying from drug-resistant superbugs. Though the announcement symbolizes a critical step forward, the FDA’s strategy depends on voluntary cooperation from the drug industry.
