Eco Factor: Weight of EVs could be reduced by integrating batteries into body panels. In an effort to reduce the weight of electric cars and find a better place to install the power storage systems, Volvo has triggered a new project, christened the Tomorrow’s Volvo Car, which seeks the development of a car battery that can be built into the car’s body panels. The company is working on these car panel batteries as part of a three-year, 3.5 million Euro project started by the Imperial College in London.
