Russian Billionaire Battles to Save the Stray Dogs of Sochi Olympics from Extermination

In preparation for the Olympic games in Sochi on Friday, Russian officials have been scrambling to make the town a welcome site for the 200,000 people expected to arrive. Incredibly, part of their policy to make the resort habitable for humans has been to round up and kill hundreds of stray dogs . In response to the lethal campaign that has been in effect since October, billionaire Olga Melnikova is spearheading an effort to save the animals.
